A guided tour following the new ‘Three Gardens Eighteen People Trail” from Broomhill Community Library to Sheffield Botanical Gardens where
Hosted by: Broomhill Community Library, Friends of the Botanical Gardens and Sheffield General Cemetery
Start Location: Broomhill Library on the right of Taptonville Rd, 100m uphill from the junction with Fulwood Rd.
Start time: Arrive at 10:20 ready to start at 10:30.
Tickets: Pre booking not required however places limited to 25.
Walk Length: Total length 2 and a half hours, but it can be split .
Particpant Expected Fitness Level Modrate mostly down hill.
Participant Expected Experience: None
Estimated end time (rough guide only) 1pm
Full Description: The first stage will be a tour looking at Everyday histories around Broomhill.
At 11.30 the tour will arrive at the Main Entrance on Clarkehouse Rd Botanical Gardens and continue with 6 everyday histories of people influential in the Gardens. This part of the Tour will end at the Thompson Rd entrance at 12.00 where a volunteer from the General Cemetery will meet the Group and take them to the General Cemetery where the tour will be self guided.Leaflets will be available.
Public transport
Each start point can be reached by bus, car parking is very limited, see buses to Broomhill and Ecclesall road.
