Come to see the award-winning urban regeneration & sustainable drainage scheme in Sheffield that transformed grey streets into a linear park

The walk, led by a Sheffield City Council officer involved in the scheme since 2014, will start outside the Crown Court Building on West Bar. This area is the first phase of Grey to Green(completed in 2016). After some explanation about why the project came about, who was involved in the delivery and funding, the group will walk towards Bridge St and Snig Hill and continue onto Castlegate. This is the start of Grey to Green Phase 2 (completed in 2022). A brief introduction to the new Castle Hill Park in Castlegate will also be provided.

The walk is expected to take 2 hours. Please wear comfortable shoes. If it is very sunny, please wear hats and bring some drinks with you. The walk is free and open to all ages.
