Each walk comes with:
- Easy-to-follow directions & maps
- Clues to solve (with answers tucked away at the back!)
- Fascinating facts about Sheffield’s rich history and the characters who shaped it
- Ideas for things to see and do on the way
Walk 1: Victoria Quays to Peace Gardens - 1.5 miles / 2.4 kms
This walk takes you from the picturesque port of Victoria Quays at the end of the Sheffield canal, to vibrant gardens in the heart of the city - a living celebration of world peace. In between you’ll walk beside Sheffield’s supertrams, circle its unusual cathedral and a Georgian Square from Paradise, pass an imposing Town Hall, the celebrated Crucible Theatre and the wonderful Winter Gardens. Something for everyone!
Walk 2: Town Hall to Fabulous City View - 1 mile / 1.6 kms
From the Town Hall this walk takes you first to the City Hall, a modern venue for special events. Descend now down the ‘gold route’ to Sheffield station, past modern university buildings sporting modern poetry, and a Cutting Edge water feature. Traverse the station and the Supertram tracks to ascend a hill with an unusual amphitheatre, ending at enchanting gardens with absolutely stunning views over most of Sheffield.
Both walks are wheelchair and buggy friendly, though small diversions may be necessary.
Available as a handy booklet or instant download (perfect for mobiles or home printing). One booklet covers up to four explorers—ideal for families, friends, or solo adventurers!
Let Sheffield surprise you. Let curiosity lead the way.
