An experimental format, similar to the “Fast Classical” currently being trialled by FIDE – such time controls are already allowed for U1800 players, so we’re giving it a go.

An opportunity to play (up to) 5 FIDE rated games in a day, for those who have FIDE rating U1800 or no FIDE rating at all. We’re using a 30 30 time control, and we’ll be running 5 rounds in the day – though we appreciate some players might want to take a half-point bye or two. Games at: 10am, 12.15pm, 2.30pm, 4.45pm, 7pm

Prizes will be depending on entry, but the low entry fees (18.50 with a FIDE rating, 25 without), last-minute event, and we’ll be doing ‘prizes for all’ participants so cash prizes will be lower than usual (eg. £100 if 20 entrants).
