Discover how Sheffield is responding to the challenges of climate change. Join researchers from the University of Sheffield for a free guided walking tour exploring the innovative ways the city is becoming greener, cooler, healthier and more resilient. From adaptable buildings and drainage to cleaner transport, biodiversity and urban food systems, this tour reveals the hidden sustainability stories behind everyday places in the city centre.

Starting at Devonshire Green and finishing in Castlegate, we will visit a series of locations that showcase solutions to some of today's biggest environmental challenges. Along the way, our guides will explain some of the science behind these solutions and discuss how local actions contribute to tackling global issues such as climate change, air pollution, biodiversity loss and food security.

Whether you're interested in sustainability, engineering, architecture, urban planning, or simply curious about the city around you, this tour offers a fascinating new perspective on Sheffield!

Who is the tour for?

Everyone is welcome! No prior knowledge is needed - just comfortable walking shoes and curiosity. The tour is suitable for all ages, but attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult at all times.
