Jazzing for Jamaica: Sheffield Fundraiser Supporting the 2025 Jamaica Hurricane Appeal

Saturday 10 October 2026 • 8pm–2am • SADACCA, Sheffield

The SADACCA Jazz Appreciation Society announces Jazzing for Jamaica, a major cultural fundraising event taking place on Saturday 10 October 2026 at SADACCA, Sheffield, running from 8pm until 2am. The event aims to raise vital funds for the 2025 Jamaica Hurricane Appeal, supporting long‑term recovery efforts for communities still rebuilding after one of the most devastating storms in recent Jamaican history.

Headlining the night is the internationally celebrated Michael “Bammi” Rose Quartet, led by the iconic Jamaican saxophonist whose career spans collaborations with Nina Simone, Cymande, Aswad, Jazz Jamaica, Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Rico Rodriguez, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Prince Buster, and Tommy McCook.

The quartet features:

Alan Weekes — renowned UK guitarist known for his work with lovers rock pioneers Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson, and Jean Adebambo, as well as his long-standing role in Jazz Jamaica.

Kenrick Rowe — a versatile pianist respected across jazz, gospel, reggae and soul communities.

Lance Rose — London-based bassist whose sound blends jazz tradition with Jamaican musical heritage.

The programme also includes performances from local jazz artists, special guest appearances from Kent Roach, Eneta & Chazzlyn, and a late‑night sound‑system finale featuring Les Diamond, Voodoo Sound System, and Boogie & Skank— bringing authentic Jamaican sound‑system culture to Sheffield.

Authentic Jamaican food and drinks will be served throughout the evening, creating a vibrant cultural celebration of Jamaica’s global musical legacy while raising funds for a critical humanitarian cause.
