About This Event

Lucy Huzzard and Claire Vine will perform folk tunes at Highfield Trinity Methodist Church in Sheffield on 9 October. Tickets are priced between £9.38 and £28.88, with an early evening songwriting session also taking place.

Join Lucy Huzzard and Claire Vine for an evening of folk tunes and songs. They will also lead an early evening songwriting - all welome!

Local Lucy Huzzard will be performing a rare solo set of folk tunes on Melodeon, while Cymru/Wales based Claire Vine will sing a mix of newly written and traditional songs accompanied by harmonium and the help of a vocal looper.

The pair will also be leading a collaborative group songwriting workshop before the gig. This event is open to all and we especially welcome people who wouldn't usually consider themselves musicians or songwriters. Further details below

Lucy Huzzard

With one foot on the dancefloor at all times, Lucy Huzzard brings a love of groove and dance music to her solo set, interwoven with her songwriting of the personal and political. On melodeon and foot percussion, her set promises to be a joyful, soulful and groove-driven call to move your feet, and lift your heart.

Claire Vine

Claire Vine is a folk singer and songwriter based in Machynlleth, Cymru. Her solo project fearlessly explores urgent themes of land rights, oppression, climate change and inequality, in timeless songs that sound like they've always existed. Using subtle electronics to layer her voice into a haunting choir, she creates a space for her listeners to collectively feel the grief expressed in her music, offering a moment of shared catharsis. She is also a skilled song-interpreter, delivering classics from the traditional/folk revival canon with a new and profound humanity.

“This extraordinarily compelling work is a constant and ever-stimulating delight” - Folk London
