About This Event

Taste forgotten 16th and 17th century drinks, recreated in Sheffield, and hear the research behind these historic recipes. The Old Drinks for New Tastes project found lost recipes for ale, beer and spirits from the 16th and 17th centuries and asked some of the most talented independent brewers and distillers in the UK – all based in Sheffield – to work with them to create delicious new beverages inspired by these forgotten formulas. Join Professor Phil Withington, Dr Nicholas Groat and Jacob Nickles to hear about their research and taste some of their new-old recipes. An associated art exhibition by three Sheffield artists, inspired by the city’s craft alcohol movement, is showing at Triple Point Brewery & Bar until the end of November.
