The Therapeutic Creative Writing Group will meet at Grenoside Reading Room on 1 November 2026 at 14:00. This monthly session focuses on expressive writing to enhance self-awareness and self-connection. Tickets are priced at £15.00.

An informal, friendly, therapeutic creative writing group (of no more than 8 participants).

Theme: Keeping the fire burning - exploring passion, purpose and what makes us feel alive
This ongoing monthly therapeutic/expressive writing group is for anyone who enjoys (or thinks they might enjoy) writing for pleasure or to develop self-awareness, self-understanding and self-connection. Using prose excerpts, poetry, images and other prompts, this group invites you to explore your inner and outer worlds through writing. Sharing your writing is always optional but the invitation is there to share and discuss your writing or discoveries with others.
The aim of the workshop is to enable participants to enhance their well-being through emotional expression and illumination. Why not make a date with yourself on the first Sunday of the month, to enhance your sense of well-being and self-connection through writing?
What you will need: Bring a very notebook if you like but paper and pens are provided.
Teas, coffees and biscuits (including vegan options) are also provided.
Please note: these workshops are for adults aged 18 and over. Refunds are only available up to 7 days before the event.
About the Facilitator
The facilitator, Emma Garrard, is a Biblio/Poetry Therapist with over 20 years' experience facilitating groups, who will safely and expertly guide you through the writing process.
