Join us at Powis Castle and Garden to celebrate Diwali this November. This is the first year we are marking Diwali at Powis Castle and Garden. The interior of the Ballroom will be beautifully decorated and lit including diyas, marigolds, rangoli and hand-crafted decorations with a contemporary twist designed by artist Sheena Holland. We will be marking Diwali from 6 November and continuing until 27 November so that visitors can experience the space in a whole new way and share in the uplifting colour, light and joy at this time of year. About Diwali Known to many as the ‘Festival of Light’ Diwali is the most celebrated festival in India and is observed by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. Held over five days in late autumn, its date shifts yearly based on the lunar calendar. While Diwali means different things to different religions, people and communities, it is united by themes of light, hope, and renewal. Many people light diyas (traditional clay oil lamps) and decorate the entrances of their homes with rangolis. Diwali is a time for reflection, joy, and togetherness, bringing families and communities together in celebration. Whether you are reconnecting with your roots or discovering something new, everyone is warmly invited to join us to experience Diwali at Powis Castle and Garden. -- Normal off-peak admission charges apply, members visit for free.
