<p><strong>Come and learn the traditional Ventnor game of Rings!</strong></p> <p>Rings is a game that was frequently played in pubs, with almost every establishment having its own ringboard on the wall, in the same way that you would find a dartboard and pool table now, but unfortunately has become less common over time. But Rings is still very much alive in a few parts of England and Ireland, including a well supported Ventnor League today.</p> <p>The aim of the game is to score the highest number you can by throwing three small rubber rings onto the hooks on the board – scoring in a similar manner to a darts game. In Ireland and Essex the board has 13 hooks, but the Ventnor regulation ringboard has 15! You also need to finish on an exact score, and it’s a lot harder than it looks!</p> <p>Teams from pubs in and around Ventnor take part regularly, and we want to help spread the game even more, so come and learn the rules, have a go, and you might soon want to join the Ventnor League!</p> <p><strong>First Tuesday of the Month – from 7pm</strong></p>
