Want to get out of your head and feel more confident on stage? Join Southampton Improv Community (SIC) for a relaxed, supportive two-part course focused on core scenework, listening, and learning to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Sometimes in improv, it’s easy to feel like you have to constantly invent funny ideas, rush the plot, or figure out what to say next. This course is all about taking the pressure off. We’ll show you how to slow down, trust your natural instincts, and simply react to what’s right in front of you.

What We’ll Cover

Across two fun, practical sessions, we’ll focus on the heart of great improv: connecting with your scene partner. We will work as a group to define what we know about each scene and how we can build on those existing ideas organically. In our second session we will develop this knowledge with some practical mechanics, to create several scenes from a single word prompt.

Who Is This For?

This is a mixed-ability drop-in course, meaning everyone is welcome! Whether you’re relatively new to improv and want to build confidence, or you've been playing for a while and want to refresh your core mechanics, this space is for you.
