Join us for the 2nd instalment of Sunday Session live at the Titanic. On Sunday, the 16th of August, we have a full lineup of four local acoustic acts. Music is from 4 pm to 7 pm and features local talent. Come along, grab a drink and support local musicians with completely free entry.
Amy Fox
Amy Fox is an acoustic singer-songwriter from the New Forest. With a soulful voice that ‘sounds like she’s lived’, Amy uses her life experience to tell relatable stories through powerful vocals and candid lyrics, creating real and emotional songs that hit home. Influenced largely by Americana, Folk and Soul artists of the 60s and 70s, Amy’s sound has been likened to Stevie Nicks, Emmy-Lou Harris and Dido. Her debut EP was released in April to critical acclaim and the title track ‘Pause’ is currently number 1 in the Voice FM South Coast Music Chart.
Charlie Smith
My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I’m Charlie Smith, a singer-songwriter from Romsey, Hampshire. I perform solo and have experience playing and hosting my own independent shows at venues such as The Railway Inn, Flack Manor Brewery, and The Platform Tavern. I am super passionate about grassroots music and regularly participate in action to grow my local scene. Fiercely independent, I record and produce all music with a true DIY ethos. In April, I hosted six gigs in England as part of my music venue trust fundraiser tour. I managed to fundraise £575, including events in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool & Leicester.
Simon Maggs & People like us
Simon Maggs (guitar & vocals) and Chris Bluemel (violin) are two-fifths of indie folk band People Like Us. Literate, indie-folkie songs blend catchy melodies with wry lyrical storytelling, rich with relatable real-life themes and occasional kitchen-sink narratives. Their sound draws inspiration from the likes of Billy Bragg, Paul Heaton, The Smiths, and Frank Turner — mixing folk charm with a touch of protest and plenty of heart. Recent releases like Baby Boomers, Cartoon Fantasy, and One For The Teenagers showcase their upbeat, melodic side, while tracks like Two Legs Better reveals a darker more, reflective edge and Last Man Standing brings out a rockabilly side.
