Join us after dark in the Victorian Parlour of historic Prittlewell Priory for a special, scary screening of original Hammer Horror 'Dracula' (1958)... if you dare!

"At last I have met Count Dracula. He accepts me as a man who has agreed to work among his books...as I intended. It only remains for me now to await the daylight hours when, with God's help, I will forever end this man's reign of terror..."Transylvania, 1885. Posing as a librarian, Jonathan Harker arrives at Count Dracula's (Christopher Lee) castle to destroy its evil master—an ancient vampire terrorising the land. Instead, Harker's mission ends in tragedy, and an enraged Dracula targets Harker's fiancée, Lucy, for revenge. Settle in this spooky season with the king of the horror genre Christopher Lee in this gothic Hammer Horror classic, in the fitting setting of our Victorian Parlour. Popcorn and other refreshments will be available to purchase in the visitor centre beforehand.

There are two time slots available, 6pm & 8pm:

For the 6pm screening, refreshments will be available from the visitor centre from 5:30pm, the doors to the parlour will open at 5.45pm and the film will start promptly at 6pm.

For the 8pm screening, refreshments will be available from the visitor centre from 7:30pm, the doors to the parlour will open at 7:45pm and the film will start promptly at 8pm.

The film's run time is 82 minutes. Please note: this event is for age 18+ only.

The screenings are 'BYOB'.. bring your own blankets! We will have a few cushions and blankets to hand for visitors to borrow, but we do encourage visitors to bring their own cushions to place on the chairs for comfort.
