September's instalment of our 'after hours' series explores brand new, immersive exhibition 'Kiss Me Quick: A Love Letter to Southend' at Southend Central Museum. From the early promotion of Southend as a destination to improve one’s health and wellbeing, to a thriving seaside escape for east Londoners, Southend has always been home to a creative cultural landscape and a charismatic entertainment trade.

Through objects, photography, sounds and ephemera, 'Kiss Me Quick' celebrates the bright lights and bustling amusements, local theatres, bandstands and cinemas, and the iconic Kursaal that track the evolution of this exuberant city.

Explore the exhibition after hours at the museum with a complimentary glass of wine and learn more about Southend's storied, seaside past with Senior Curator Vittorio Ricchetti.

Doors open at 6pm, with half an hour for exploring the museum with a complementary glass of wine. The tour begins at 6:30pm, and the event finishes by 8pm.
