A specialist course for MHOs and trainee MHOs in Scotland, building confidence in forensic practice, pathways and report writing.

This course is intended for MHOs in Scotland, or trainee MHOs in Scotland, currently working in forensic practice, or those with an interest in doing so. Whilst the focus of this course is on the role of the MHO, it may be of interest to other practitioners working in forensic practice, or those with an interest in doing so. There are no prerequisites for attending this course.

There are very few MHO-specific forensic mental health courses run in Scotland. Given the complexity of forensic mental health legislation, this course will provide a much-needed resource for those working with forensic cases with a view to improving confidence, understanding and practice.

Open to MHOs working in or interested in forensic practice. No prerequisites required.

The course will be delivered by Lindsey Young (Social Work Operations Manager - The State Hospital,) and Euan Williamson (Principal MHO - Highland Council), spanning practice considerations from high secure care to the community.
