The Wild Neighbours workshop will take place on 8 November 2026 at Tillicoultry Devonvale Hall. Participants will explore local nature through creative activities, guided by a local herbalist. Attendance is free.
In collaboration with a local herbalist, together we will explore the nature on our doorstop using a range of creative approaches.
Wild Neighbours is a free, artist-led community project exploring how creativity can help us connect with and care for the natural world around us.
Join us for the first in a series of creative events, as we head out along the Devon Way with Lesley from The Hillfoots Herbalist to take a fresh look at the landscape around us.
Along the way, we’ll discover some of the plants and trees that grow in our local green spaces, learning how to recognise them, their traditional uses and the ways they support both people and other living things. We’ll explore the changing seasons, from new growth to the fallen leaves and fading plants that are all part of nature’s cycle.
With plenty of opportunities to stop, look and create, we’ll experiment with drawing, mark-making and other creative ways of capturing what we find. It’s a chance to slow down, pay attention to the little details and discover how art can help us see familiar surroundings in a different light.
Everyone will receive a handmade Field Book to fill with sketches, notes and discoveries throughout the walk, and to take home for future adventures.
At the heart of Wild Neighbours is the belief that the more we notice and appreciate the places around us, the more connected we feel to them, and the more we want to care for them.
This is the first in a series of free creative events, with more information on upcoming sessions to follow.
