About This Event

The Keele in Town venue will be the location for a free, open and informal local business networking meeting organised by Connects Network in August 2026.

Open and informal local business networking in Staffordshire

Connects is a not-for-profit, relaxed and informal networking opportunity facilitated by number of local business owners in the Staffordshire area who enjoy bringing people together and promoting the many positive aspects of local community.

Each month, we carefully choose our guest speakers who have success stories, interesting projects and events to share that are happening on our doorstep.

Whether you're a local entrepreneur, business owner or organisation, all are welcome to our network meeting, and there are no fees to attend, so be sure to bring your business cards and share the event with others who might be interested.

Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker for this session is Sarah Watson. Sarah has worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years, specialising in Older People’s Mental Health. Laterally, Sarah went on to complete Anxiety Management training, gaining a diploma in the STILL method (which stands for Stop, Talk, Imagine, Listen and Learn), and broadened her scope further by training to become a STILL Pain Coach.

Founding UNSHRINKABLE, Ltd. Sarah now offers engaging and bespoke Anxiety Management and Chronic Pain Coaching courses to individuals, schools and businesses. This session “Busy … but not burnt-out!” will allow you to experience some practical tips and strategies that can help you to cope with life’s pressures and demands.

Venue

Keele in Town is a new chapter in the history of Keele University, where an empty 19th century building in the heart of Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre has been transformed into a mixed-use facility. The building is a space where Staffordshire businesses and non-profit organisations can shine, along with areas for Keele students and staff to get together, to study, and to connect with the community.

What to expect:

Welcome: A warm welcome to all attendees.

60-second Presentations: An opportunity to share about yourself and your work.

Break: Recharge with a short break and a cup of tea and coffee.

Guest Speaker: Hear from this month's guest speaker

Q & A: The floor opens for questions and comments.

Networking: Time for informal conversations and connections among participants.
