Your book club ticket includes:

ABOUT THE BOOK

This book club we head to Sarmiento Park, the biggest public park in Cordoba, Argentina.

It is a refuge, for the travesti who gather there. They are like family. At night they head out to earn money. They stand together in the cold, sharing stories and a hip flask of whiskey, waiting for a car to slow down.

Until, one freezing evening, Auntie Encarna hears crying in the bushes and wades in to investigate. When she finds an abandoned baby boy, she will hear no arguments: she is bringing him home to care for him. Life for the queens of Sariamento park will never be the same.

This event will involve sitting on a chair, with comfort breaks whenever you need them. We encourage standing up and stretching, fidgeting, wiggling around, this isn't school, humans need to move.

There will be amplified sound at low levels.
