Join Trent Rivers Trust on a walk following the River Trent through Stoke-on-Trent and learn more about our work across the city and the wider region helping to improve the health of our rivers.
We will be following the Trent Valley Way path through a section of Stoke-on-Trent through the heart of the city. The Trent Valley Way runs the entire length of the River Trent from it’s source to the sea, and Trent Rivers Trust takes on a custodial role in it’s ongoing maintenance, usage and attractiveness. We will be coinciding this walk with our Big River Watch campaign, connecting more people to their rivers across the country and offering learnings as to what makes our rivers healthy.
Members of SBEN will enjoy the chance to connect with other like-minded contacts in an outdoor space whilst connecting with a charity who’s aims and objectives work to support both community engagement and physical infrastructure changes to our rivers for supporting their health.
The walk will be 2 miles in total length, and should take about 1 hour to complete, with an introductory talk from Tom Aplin, Partnership and Engagement Manager at Trent Rivers Trust. The path is well surfaced and should be accessible for all users. If you have an accessibility concern, please raise this with Trent Rivers Trust before signing up to attend the activity.
The meeting place will be Boothen Old Rd, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4EH (https://maps.app.goo.gl/UvGEfmTsk1PYjJPFA) at 3.30pm on Tuesday 6th October. The event will end atapproximately 5.00pm.
Please ensure that you have suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing for the walk. Booking is essential for attendance. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
