About This Event

Lulworth House in Cheadle will host a women's support group titled When Andropause Affects Your Relationship on 20 October 2026. The session offers a confidential space for attendees at a ticket price of £44.04.

A supportive, confidential space for women navigating the impact of andropause on their relationship, connection and wellbeing.

“I know something has changed between us… but I don’t know what I’m supposed to do about it.”

Has your relationship changed as your partner has entered midlife?

Perhaps he seems more withdrawn, irritable or emotionally distant.

Maybe intimacy has changed. Communication feels harder. Arguments happen more easily. His confidence or motivation isn't what it once was – or you simply feel as though you're living alongside a different person.

And somewhere amongst trying to understand what is happening for him, you may have lost sight of what is happening for you.

We are creating a small, confidential support group specifically for women whose relationships are being affected by their partner experiencing andropause or significant midlife hormonal change.

You may be experiencing:

• A loss of emotional or physical intimacy

• Irritability, anger or mood changes that are affecting home life

• Your partner withdrawing or seeming emotionally unavailable

• Changes in libido or your sexual relationship

• Feeling rejected, unwanted or questioning yourself

• A partner who seems to have lost confidence, direction or motivation

• The same conversations or arguments going around in circles

• Feeling as though you're carrying the emotional load of the relationship

• Worry about whether this is hormones, your relationship, stress – or something else entirely

• Trying to support your partner whilst going through perimenopause or menopause yourself

• Navigating all of this whilst parenting children or teenagers

• Or having no children at home and wondering what your relationship looks like now that the focus is simply the two of you.

Perhaps you've searched online for answers but everything seems to focus on the man experiencing andropause.

But where does that leave you?

You may love your partner deeply and still feel lonely within your relationship.

You may not want to leave.

You may not even know whether anything is fundamentally “wrong”.

You just know that something has shifted – and you feel a little adrift.

A SPACE FOR YOU

This will be a relaxed, supportive and confidential small-group setting where women can talk openly, feel heard and begin to make sense of what is happening within their relationships.

It isn't about blaming partners or diagnosing them.

It's about understanding relationship changes, recognising what may be happening beneath the surface, talking about intimacy and communication, exploring your own needs and boundaries, and meeting other women who may quietly be experiencing something very similar.

You do not need to be experiencing perimenopause or menopause yourself.

You do not need to have children.

You do not need to have reached crisis point.

You can simply come because you're wondering:

“Where do I go from here?”

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Leanne Sumnall – Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Couples Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor

Leanne is the founder of Maze Counselling Services and works with individuals and couples experiencing relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection, communication problems, changes in intimacy, attachment patterns and the often complicated dynamics that can develop when one or both partners are going through significant life changes.

With a psychotherapeutic, relational and systemic approach, Leanne will bring the relationship and emotional perspective to the group – helping women understand what may be happening between them and their partner, while importantly creating space to consider their own needs, boundaries and wellbeing too.

Natasha Restrick – Shepherd’s Rest Holistic Therapy

Natasha is a certified Holistic Life Coach and MindBody Practitioner, alongside her work as a Soul Midwife, Emotional Supporter, Youth Worker and Aromatherapy Massage Therapist.

Her work at Shepherd’s Rest has developed around the understanding that our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing are deeply connected. Natasha combines holistic approaches with relaxation and MindBody coaching, creating warm, nurturing spaces where people can slow down, talk and reconnect with themselves.

Natasha will bring the holistic wellbeing and mind-body perspective to the group – particularly valuable when women may already be managing their own stress, emotional load, perimenopause or menopause alongside changes within their relationship.

Together, Leanne and Natasha will create something a little different:

Not couples counselling.

Not a menopause class.

Not a space to criticise or blame our partners.
