About This Event

A discussion titled 'Why leadership development often fails to stick' will occur on November 16th, 2026, at 18:00. The venue is the Hilton Gardens INN in Stoke. This business-related session explores creating sustainable leadership cultures.

Explore why leadership programmes fail under pressure, and how HR can create sustainable leadership cultures.

This interactive session explores why many leadership development initiatives fail to create lasting behavioural change, despite significant investment from organisations and HR teams. Rob Moors will examine the hidden pressures modern managers face, why leaders often revert to old habits under pressure, and what organisations can do differently to create leadership cultures that are more sustainable, human, and effective.

Drawing on coaching psychology, emotionally intelligent leadership, and ‘The Coach Approach’ framework, the session will explore:

why leadership development often fails to stick

the operational realities of creating coaching cultures

the tension between performance, pressure, and people leadership

how trust, clarity, and conversation shape culture

why managers need more than tools and training alone

practical ways HR and L&D professionals can better support lasting leadership behaviour change

Attendees will leave with practical insight, reflective questions, and a clearer understanding of how to develop leaders and managers who build stronger relationships, healthier cultures, and more consistent performance.
