Join us for our Creative Wellbeing Programme — a series of small-group creative wellbeing sessions in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, made possible through National Lottery Community Fund support.

TUESDAY 11 AUGUST – Soft Pastel Workshop

Introduction to Pastel Blending
Led by Liv Askwith
Discover how to work with soft pastels through a gentle introduction to colour blending, layering and mark-making. This relaxed session is suitable for complete beginners and anyone interested in developing their pastel skills.
Afternoon Session | 2:00pm–4:00pm
Creating Pastel Landscapes
Led by Sarah Sweening
Learn how to use soft pastels to create expressive landscape artwork, exploring colour, atmosphere, texture and simple blending techniques.
TUESDAY 18 AUGUST – Sunderland-Inspired Art
Morning Session | 10:00am–12:00pm
Local Landmark Sketching
Led by Anna-Marie Gallares
Explore Sunderland’s buildings, landmarks and local character through a relaxed guided sketching session. Learn simple drawing techniques while creating artwork inspired by the city.
Afternoon Session | 2:00pm–4:00pm
Expressive Urban Illustration

Create bold and expressive illustrations inspired by Sunderland’s streets, architecture and urban landscape. Experiment with line, colour and mark-making to develop your own interpretation of the city.

Collaborative Curation Session
Led by Tallulah Lines
Work together to explore how the group’s artwork could be selected, arranged and presented as part of a community showcase. Participants will help shape the exhibition and share ideas about how the work should be displayed.
