Come celebrate our 25th birthday with a jam packed fun day!

The Foundation of Light is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special Family Fun Day delivered in partnership with Stagecoach.

Join us for a day packed with activities for all ages, including football kickabouts, family fitness sessions, face painting, cricket, table tennis, bouncy castles and much more.

The event will take place from 10am-3.30pm, with entry available through bookable time slots (please note there are no on the door sales).

Entry tickets are available for a £2.50 donation per person to the Foundation of Light (under 3's go free), with discounted family tickets also available*.

*Family tickets cover 2 adults and 2 children. Please purchase one family ticket per group.

All activities throughout the day are free to enjoy - Please note that food and drink will be available to purchase separately.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

When is Family Fun Day?

Foundation of Light Family Fun Day takes place on Thursday 13th August from 10am to 3.30pm. The event will be split into various time slots between these times to manage capacity.

Does the event cost to attend?

Tickets for Family Fun Day cost £2.50 as a donation to Foundation of Light (under 3's go free), with a wide range of free activities available upon entry.

Who needs a ticket for the event?

All children and adults require tickets to attend the event. Under 3's go free.

Who is Family Fun Day for?

Everybody is welcome at Foundation of Light Family Fun Day.

Where will I be able to park?

You can park in any of Stadium of Light car parks. Please note that car parking charges apply.

Can I reach the Beacon of Light on public transport?

There are regular bus services to and from Stadium Park, with a bus stop outside the front entrance to the Beacon. We are also based just a few minutes’ walk away from the Stadium of Light and St Peter’s (the closest of the two) Tyne and Wear Metro stops.

Is there disabled access?

Yes, the Beacon of Light is fully accessible with lifts at the front and rear of the building.

Will I be able to bring a pushchair?

Pushchairs are welcome. We are designating the area between the main entrance and indoor arena viewing gallery to store pushchairs at your own risk.

Will there be refreshments available?

Yard Nine cafe will be open. There are also vending machines near the main entrance and outside the indoor arena.
