About This Event

A zine-making workshop takes place at the Lakeside & Gilley Law Community Association in Sunderland on 4 October 2026. Led by Mack Sproates, the event uses pre-loved materials to explore connections with nature. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

Explore your relationship with nature and attachments to place and create pre-loved zines.

Using pre-loved materials, we will experiment with crafting our own mini-magazines (AKA zines!), and using them to explore relationships with nature and attachments to place. As with the other workshops in the SOMEWHERE LAKE series, Zine-making at the Silksworth Lakes is focused on celebrating nature in Sunderland, however all people from all places are welcome.

The workshop includes an optional 20-min walk around the top lake, all on paved pathways.

Tea, coffee and biscuits provided!
