Open the Door to Swindon's Biggest Celebration of Creativity

This September, Swindon becomes a showcase for local creativity as Swindon Open Studios returns, inviting visitors to discover almost 100 artists across more than 20 creative disciplines. Expect painting, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, printmaking, photography, sculpture, glass, mixed media and much more.

The idea is simple: artists welcome visitors into studios, galleries and shared creative venues, giving you the chance to see where work is made, meet the people behind it and discover the enormous variety of creativity happening locally.

There is no pressure to buy and no need to know anything about art. Swindon Open Studios is about exploring, talking, looking and enjoying. Some artists will demonstrate their techniques, while others will have original work, prints, cards and other pieces available to buy directly.

Visit one nearby venue or create your own route around several. The official brochure features all participating artists and venues, while the interactive online map makes it easy to see who is exhibiting where and plan your day.

It’s a rare opportunity to step inside creative spaces not normally open to the public and discover artists who may be working only a few streets away.

Whether you're a regular gallery visitor, looking for something unusual for your home, searching for a locally made gift, a budding artist or simply curious about what happens inside an artist's studio, everyone is welcome.

Admission is free, with artists opening their doors during the last two weekends of September.
