BEN SALFIELD IN CONCERT Following his latest tour, in Hungary and Poland with BenOla Duo, Cornwall’s internationally celebrated lutenist Ben Salfield returns to the Stithians Centre for a special solo concert on Sat 14 Nov at 7.30pm. Having appeared all across the UK and Europe since 1988, Ben is one of the most experienced concert performers in his field worldwide, and has received critical acclaim in the press wherever he goes. Greats such as the late classical guitarist Julian Bream and conductors Sir Charles Groves and Sir Roger Norrington described him in glowing terms, praising his quality of sound, while the Director of Sweden’s Malmoe Festival called him “one of the greatest solo lutenists of his generation.” Ben will perform a programme of arrangements for 10-course guitar of baroque music featuring works by Scarlatti, Weiss, Lauffensteiner, Händel and Bach – five of the most famous composers of their era who produced some of the most evocative music of all time for lute and keyboard. Ben Salfield said: “I can’t wait to come back to the Stithians Centre in November for my last solo appearance of 2026. I love to play there: the local audiences are friendly and enthusiastic, and I always feel warmly received. Solo concerts are relatively rare for me nowadays and I really pick and choose where I play, so I do hope the people of Stithians come out and support me!” So, make sure you get your tickets today to hear this leading international concert artist performing some of the most beautiful 18th century music ever written!
