Mike Galsworthy is Chair of European Movement UK, founder and sole director of Scientists for EU, and founder and co-director of the Bylines Network of ten citizen journalism publications. A scientist by background, he has spent the years since the 2016 referendum building grassroots organisations and campaigns to rebuild Britain’s relationship with Europe. He writes and speaks widely on UK-EU relations, geopolitics and community-led campaigning.

"With the next general election on the horizon, the pressure is on for every party to say where it actually stands on Europe - and critically - their positions on joining the EU. Mike Galsworthy, Chair of European Movement UK, sets out what “targeting the manifestos” really means in practice: how to seize this moment between now and the next General Election to pin down political party commitments for the next parliament and very specifically - get a public mandate at that vote for opening accession talks for full EU membership.
