The Wakefield District Resilience Framework will be introduced during a session at Wakefield One. The goal is to increase confidence in using the risk and resilience framework. This free business event takes place on 20 November 2026.
Introduction to the Wakefield District Resilience Framework - increase confidence in using the framework (full sessions)
The session will enable you to:
- Increase confidence in using the framework- Recognise how it can complement your work- Identify and overcome barriers to using the framework- Share best practice
By the end of the session the learner will:
1. Understand The Resilience Framework approach to working with children and young people and how it can be applied in to their own working practice.
2. Be able to use the Resilience Framework and its support tools to communicate effectively with children and young people.
3. Increase confidence to develop and use creative strategies (resources provided, new and existing interventions and activities) to build Resilience competences in children or young people.
4. Understand how the Resilience Framework can support practitioners in the assessments and processes to support children and young people be heard.
This session is facilitated by Denise Wheatman the Lead on the Resilience Framework for Wakefield Council and Emily Castle- CEO Young Lives Consortium.
The training is face to face in and there is a £25 cancellation fee for non-attendees on the day unless we are been notified 48 hours before as we usually have a waiting list and can offer the space to someone else.
Car parking is close-by and within a 10 minute walk to the venue and 5 minute walk from Westgate train station.
The venue has disabled access and please let us know if you need any additional support on the day.
If all dates are sold out, please email info@ylc.org.uk to be placed on a waiting list.
