From Transactional to Trusted Partnerships: Creating the Conditions for Fostering Excellence

Join the Greater Manchester Regional Care Co-operative (GM RCC), local authority representatives and Independent Fostering Agency providers for a practical, collaborative forum focused on strengthening relationships and creating the right fostering capacity across Greater Manchester.

The day will combine regional insight, facilitated discussion and interactive workshops. Participants will explore Greater Manchester’s current and forecast sufficiency needs, reflect on how commissioners and providers work together, and consider the pressures and information needs experienced on both sides of the partnership. Afternoon workshops will focus on data flow and understanding local supply, preventing placement disruption, Step Across and transition pathways, and needs-led commissioning.

The forum is designed to move the conversation from identifying challenges to agreeing practical action. By the close, attendees will have helped shape a small number of shared commitments and next steps to support stronger, more trusted partnerships and improve fostering sufficiency across the region.
