About This Event

Soup On The Go makes its return to Hartford on Tuesday 20 October 2026, promising an evening of community fundraising inspired by a Dragons’ Den-style pitch event. Held at The Hart of Hartford, attendees can enjoy bowls of soup and cake as local residents present their ideas for community projects, seeking support to bring them to life. The event begins at 6pm and is free to attend, with donations collected on the night for the projects selected by the audience. A range of local performers and organisers will help host the evening, fostering a relaxed atmosphere where neighbours can share ideas and resources. This informal setting encourages collaboration, allowing community members to vote with their contributions and directly influence which initiatives receive funding. Whether you come to pitch, to listen, or simply to enjoy a warm bowl of soup, the event offers a chance to connect with those around you and make a tangible difference in the local area. All are welcome to join this spirited gathering, where creativity and generosity go hand in hand.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

- People with great, early-stage ideas (community projects and grassroot start-ups) that will provide lasting benefit to our community submit applications via this site.

- The first 8 (eligible) groups to register present their ideas in a pitch of 5 minutes during our evening event.

- Attendees donate on the door £10 per adult and £5 per child in return for receiving a bowl of soup and a roll and a vote on the evening.

- After the presentations, attendees vote, and all of the votes are counted. The project pitch/pitches with the most votes win the cash.

To understand what our events are and how they benefit the community, take a look at this short news feature of our April 2025 event.
