Blackden - a place of

Time and No Time

Fact and Fiction

Memory and Myth

Tales of Time and Place is a celebration of creativity, bringing together sculpture, film,

photography, and storytelling inspired by the atmosphere of one acre of land at the heart of

Blackden, which has yielded evidence of human occupation throughout the last ten thousand

years. This intimate event invites you into a world where myth, memory, and imagination

intertwine.

The day features an exhibition of sculptures by Liz Ellis, film and photographic work by

David Heke, and images from The Blackden Trust archive.

Two lectures will also be presented:

Seeing Things: Hidden Worlds in Celtic Art by Professor Melanie Giles FSA FBA

Patterns and Place: The Story of The Owl Service by Elizabeth Garner.

Together these elements create a day that celebrates the deep connections between place,

story and art.

The Google map pin is close but not accurate. Please turn down the private road marked as Blackden Firs, bear right at the farm and at the bottom of the track, by the bridge, turn left and cross the cattle grid. The Old Medicine House is ahead of you at the top of the track. Please do not park by the cattle grid as this is for fishermen only.

The nearest train station is Goostrey which is a walk of approximately 1 mile away.
