Remembering the 8th Hussars who fought valiantly in the Korean War.
Join us at The Queen’s Royal Hussars Museum on Thursday 17 September at 6.30pm for a special talk remembering the 8th Hussars and their service during the Korean War. This year marks 75 years since the Korean War, and as part of Heritage Open Days 2026, we will be exploring the experiences of the 8th Hussars who fought valiantly in Korea.
The talk will draw on a fascinating range of primary and secondary sources, alongside material from The Queen’s Royal Hussars Museum archive and reserve collection. A selection of these original archival items will be on display during the evening, with further material featured in our temporary exhibition marking the 75th anniversary of the Korean War.
We are especially pleased to welcome serving officers of The Queen’s Royal Hussars, who will be leading the talk and using these sources to explore the experiences of the Regiment in Korea and the stories behind the surviving historical record.
The talk is part of Heritage Open Days 2026, running from 11–20 September, celebrating England’s history and culture.
Come along to discover more about the men of the 8th Hussars, their service in Korea, and the enduring connection between the Regiment, its archive and the heritage of Warwick.
Tickets available at £14pp and £12pp for 'Friends of the Museum' via Eventbrite, or by contacting the museum direct for this bespoke event which includes before and after hours entry to the museum, with wine, soft drinks and nibbles.
