Steve Cropley chats to David Sleat, renown and highly respected racing mechanic for Joey Dunlop, Wayne Gardner, and Ron Haslam.
Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, David was a key figure in the paddock, working on dominant machinery for the Honda Team.
David also worked for Gus Kuhn, before transitioning to the Honda GB Race Team, and becoming a central pillar of their road racing operations.
Come and hear stories from and beyond the Pit Lane, including crashing a car on an illicit lap of Assen, Joey riding shotgun!
Sleat's meticulous engineering and maintenance alongside fellow mechanics kept Dunlop's factory Hondas running at peak performance, contributing to a golden era of Isle of Man TT and North West 200 victories.
