Coventry & Warwickshire Remembrance Event - For Anyone Bereaved by Suicide
Please join us for a memorial walk and picnic, run by Amparo (Support After Bereavement by Suicide). It's a chance to come together, remember loved ones, and support each other.
When: August 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM (BST)
Where: Brunswick Community Hub
As a community, we will collectively honour community members and loved ones we have lost to suicide. Simultaneously providing awareness, prevention and postvention for suicide through collaboration with the branch of Listening Ear's charity: Amparo.
Our event will begin at Brunswick Community Hub.
You are invited to create a memorial stone with community members. During this creative and meaning-making practice, we will hear introductions from Amparo, and about their service, which provides postvention emotional and practical support to those bereaved by suicide.
For those able to, we will collectively walk together to the canals. We will place our stones in an agreed location.
After the walk, we will all return together to the band stand, and share in refreshments, reflections, poetry and stories of loved ones lost to suicide. We will be joined by a celebrant, and community-based support.
Further information:
The walk is led by Nick Wilkins, a trained counsellor.
We are grateful to our back marker: Sheila Coughlan.
As well, support from our knowledgable local-guide and family charity support worker: Jayne Thomas.
Local Amparo P&P Leader & Suicide Bereavement Liaison, Jo Smyth
