Funding is out there, but many people in Wigan Borough’s music scene aren’t tapping into it. The Wigan Grassroots Music Plan, based on 305 survey responses, found that:

Only 7.8% of artists know about funding and understand how to apply

37.3% of artists weren’t aware of any funding at all

54.9% of artists had heard of funding but didn’t understand it

54.5% of music educators weren’t aware of funding, and none felt confident in both finding it and applying

13.3% of respondents found funding applications too complicated

These sessions are here to close that gap. Book a 30-minute one-to-one with an Arts Council England adviser to talk through your plans and find out what funding could fit. It’s organised by The Snug with Wigan Council, as part of the Wigan Grassroots Music Plan.

Who it’s for

Musicians, bands, DJs and producers. Venues and promoters. Music organisations, community groups and educators across Wigan Borough. Individuals and acts are very welcome, not just organisations.

How booking works

Each 30-minute slot is for one person or a couple of representatives fromm a group, so please book one slot per group.

Pick the time that suits you. Slots run from 10:00 to 16:00, with a lunch break from 12:30 to 13:30.

If you can’t make it, please cancel so someone else can take your slot.
