Russ was the original DJ and driving force behind the legendary Wigan Casino all-nighters, launching the famous Soul All-Nighters in 1973. The Casino became one of the most iconic venues in Northern Soul history, drawing thousands of fans during its eight-year run.

He helped introduce rare and little-known American soul records to UK audiences, shaping the sound and culture that defined the scene. Today, he remains one of its most influential figures and continues to DJ and champion the music.
