Join one of Winchester’s professional guides for a 90 minute walking tour, starting at Winchester Visitor Information Centre.

Visit the streets where real crimes once shocked the city and hear stories of notorious trials, fearsome criminals, and unusual punishments. With a famous law courts in an ancient building, a prison, a debtors prison, a bridewell prison, a pillory and ‘cage’ and several execution sites, Winchester is the perfect place to explore crime and punishment through the ages. A fascinating mix of history, mystery, and a few shivers – told in a way that’s engaging, thoughtful and fun for curious kids and grown-ups alike.

Tickets are £12 for adults, £5 for children (under 16) and available in advance through the website or in person on the day at the Visitor Information Centre subject to availability.

Child Ticket - You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the adult tickets in your group. When booking for the children select the number of children's tickets you require under general admission category, enter the promotional code CHILD and click apply. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Carer Ticket - Tickets for an essential carer are free. You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the other tickets for your group. Please select one ticket under general admission category, enter the promotional code CARERFREE and click apply. This allows the tickets to be purchased for free.
