About This Event

Clare Jackson delivers a lecture exploring the role of St George’s Chapel amid the political and religious turmoil of the seventeenth century. The talk situates the chapel at the very centre of that era’s upheavals, examining its significance across the English Civil War, the Interregnum, and the Restoration. Attendees will gain insight into how this sacred space bore witness to shifting allegiances and profound ideological conflict. The event takes place on Tuesday the twentieth of October 2026 at seven o’clock in the evening, within the chapel itself in Windsor. Admission is free of charge.

Speaker Clare Jackson will contextualise the significance of St George’s Chapel in the turbulent politics and religion of the 17th century.
