About This Event

The Woolley Firs Environmental Education Centre will run a fungi identification course on 7 November. The one-day course will be led by an expert mycologist and will teach attendees how to identify larger fungi.

Learn to identify larger fungi on this one day course with the help of an expert mycologist

With a focus on larger fungi, learn how to identify the three principal groups and their key features with the help of mycologist and fellow of the Linnean Society London, Clifford Davy. We will be shown a number of pictures, learn how to perform a spore print and how to use a simple key to fungi with gills (Agarics).

We will also enjoy a walk around the reserve to see what fungi we might find and collect a few specimens for further examination.

Please dress according to the weather including sturdy shoes.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch.

This course is for adults only.
