Event Overview

Running Tribe races work differently. You don't enter a distance — you enter the race, then decide how far you're going on the day.

Every course is a loop. You run as many laps as you like, and you can change your mind at any point. Feeling good after a half marathon? Keep going. Legs gone at 15K? Stop, collect your medal, and go home happy. There's no fixed distance to fall short of, so there's nothing to drop out of.

That makes these races unusually good for two kinds of runner. If you're stepping up — 5K to 10K, half to full, marathon to ultra — you can commit on the day rather than months in advance. And if you already race long, you get a supported loop with an aid station every lap and no logistics to think about.

We run at five venues across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, on loops of 5K, 7K or 10.8K depending on the course. Only one course runs on any given race day, so check the date you're entering.

Fields are capped at 100 runners.

10.8K loop — Courses 1, 2 and 3 Chalfont St Peter Cricket Club, Chalfont Park Sports Association, Chalfont Park, Chalfont St Peter, Gerrards Cross SL9 0QA

Roughly 80% trail and 20% road, through public footpaths and woodland. Approximately 2,100 ft of climb over six laps. 9am start, course closes 6pm — a nine-hour limit.

7K loop — Courses 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 11

Our newest courses, and the most beginner-friendly. A single 5K lap is a perfectly good day out — and you'll be cheered on by people running eight times as far.

Entry Requirements

Open to runners and walkers of all abilities, aged 16 and over.

You should be comfortable covering at least one lap of the course you've entered — 5K, 7K or 10.8K depending on the venue. Beyond that, how far you go is entirely up to you on the day.

Walkers are welcome within the course time limit.

Prizes

Course records are held for each distance rather than each race, since runners choose how far they go on the day.

Categories vary by course:

10.8K loop: 10K, Half Marathon, 32K, Marathon, 34 Mile Ultra, 41 Mile Ultra

7K loop: 7K, 14K, Half Marathon, 28K, 35K, Marathon, 50K Ultra

5K loop: 5K, 10K, 15K, Half Marathon, Marathon, 50K Ultra

Courses 7 to 12 are new — no records have been set on them yet.

Worth adding if Eventrac gives you the space. These answer the questions that stop people entering.

Do I have to decide my distance when I enter? No. You enter the race, not a distance. Run as far as you like on the day and we'll record whatever you complete.

What if I want to stop early? Then you stop. Finish a lap and that's your distance — you keep your number, you get your medal, and nobody records it as a DNF.

Is this suitable if I've never raced before? Yes, particularly the 5K courses. One lap is a proper achievement and the atmosphere on a loop course is unlike a point-to-point race.

Can I walk? Yes, within the course time limit.

Is there parking? Yes, free at every venue.
