An event for children with stories and crafts!

Join author Michael Parkin for a fun and creative workshop inspired by his book Biguana! Enjoy the story, then dive into an imaginative crafting session where children create Biguana themed puppets.

Biguana and Pinto have been best, best friends since they were eggs! They grow up together and Biguana gets bigger... and bigger... and BIGGER! He gets so much attention from everyone because of how big he is that he forgets all about Pinto and what it's like to be a good friend.

Will he learn his lesson and make friends with Pinto again?

About the author:

Michael grew up in Farnham, where he spent his childhood asking endless (and often ridiculous) questions. When no answer was satisfying enough, he began inventing his own, spinning absurd explanations and tall tales that would later inspire his storytelling.

Since becoming a father, Michael has turned his wacky ideas into fantastical stories for children. His debut book, Wrong Time Rooster, was published by Flying Eye in February 2025 to critical acclaim and has already been translated into six languages.

This event is in support of the National Year of Reading.

Accompanying adults do not need to purchase a ticket.
