BARBERSHOP CHRONICLES

Mental Health Talks for Black Men

Barbershop Chronicles is a safe place for real, raw and honest conversations faciliatated by Melanin Moods.

On Wednesday 21st October 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Barbershop Chronicles will take place at two locations, with each event exploring a different theme.

Whether you're interested in understanding your physical health or exploring the emotional patterns that shape your relationships, there’s a conversation for you.

SEVEN STAR BARBERS: PROSTATE HEALTH

📍 Seven Star Barbers, High Street, West Bromwich, B70 7QU

Theme: The Silent Risk Isn’t So Silent When We Speak Up

Our prostate health session focuses on breaking the silence around men’s health, encouraging honest conversations about prostate health, awareness and the importance of taking care of our bodies.

Too often, conversations about prostate health are avoided because of stigma, embarrassment or a lack of information. This session aims to change that by creating space for Black men to speak openly, become more informed and feel more confident about prioritising their physical wellbeing.

ALPHAS BARBERS: UNDERSTANDING ATTACHMENTS

📍 Alpha Barbers, 81 Lozells Road, Lozells, Birmingham, B19 2TS

Theme: Understanding Our Attachment Style

Alphas turns the focus towards emotional wellbeing and relationships, exploring how our attachment styles can influence the way we connect with others.

How do our early experiences shape the way we form relationships? Why might we struggle with trust, vulnerability or emotional closeness? And how do the patterns we develop over time affect the way we show up for partners, family and friends?

Together, we'll explore these questions in an open and supportive environment.
