This free 4-hour workshop explores identity, belonging and journeys through the mediums of creative writing and stop motion animation. This free 4-hour workshop explores identity, belonging and journeys through the mediums of creative writing and stop motion animation. Imogen will lead the group through a creative writing exercise – in which participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences related to how migration shapes identity and life in the Black Country. Migration here is seen simply as movement from one place to another; asking the question from participants - how such movement shapes their experiences and stories. Oxana will lead the group through the basics of stop-motion animation using camera phones and a free app called Stop Motion Studio – the group will bring to life the creative writing using stop motion animation. We encourage participants to bring in photos from home alongside images provided by the Yam From Here archives.
