Wildlife Photography Workshop
Join me for a small-group wildlife photography workshop along the Stourbridge canal, designed fro photographers who want to better find, understand and photograph wildlife in real situations.
Rather than spending the whole session talking about camera settings, this workshop focuses on the skills that often make the biggest difference in wildlife photography: observation, fieldcraft, behavious, positioning, patience and anticipation.
We'll move slowly along a pre-designated route along the canal stopping wherever wildlife activity gives us an opportunity to learn and photograph it.
What you should learn!
How to recognise the habitats most likely to hold wildlife.
Understanding signs, sound and behaviour to locate subjects.
Approaching (or not) wildlife without causing unnecessary stress and disturbance.
Reading animal behaviour and anticipating what may happen next.
The important possitioning before taking the photo.
Working with light, background and shooting angles.
Camera settings for stationary and moving wildlife.
Creating strong wildlife portrait shots.
Photographing behaviour.
Inclusion and importance of photographing the animals habitat.
Knowing when to wait, when to move or to leave an opportunity alone.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is designed for beginner to intermediate wildlife photographers.
You will not need expensive cameras or huge lenses, you don't even need to be shooting in manual mode.
You should be familiar with the basic operation of your camera but more guidance will be given throughout the session.
It will be particularly helpful to photographers who:
Struggle to find and consistantly shoot wildlife.
Find that wildlife dissapears before they can photograph it.
Want to improve their understanding of animal behaviour.
Want more confidence photographing wildlife.
Description supplied by the event organiser.
