The Social Media training for anyone in the community will bring a training session for community members to improve their social media skills.
Social media can be a brilliant way to connect with your community, promote activities and help new people discover what you do.
Whether you're involved with a church, community group, local organisation or simply want to improve your digital skills, this practical session will show you how to use social media to connect with your audience.
Social media can be a brilliant way to connect with your community, promote activities and help new people discover what you do.
But with so many platforms available, it can be difficult to know:
Where should we be?
What should we post?
How often should we post?
And is anyone actually seeing it?
Our final training session will help answer those questions.
We'll explore:
How to write captions and calls to action that encourage people to respond.
Which numbers matter and how to use them to improve your content.
How to keep your social media active without it becoming another full-time job.
One story. Multiple platforms.
We'll also show you how one piece of content can be adapted for different platforms – helping you get more value from the work you're already doing. This session is open to church members, volunteers, community groups and anyone across the West Worcester Beacon area who wants to improve their social media skills.
Platforms we will cover?
The aim will be to provide an overview of :
Instagram - How to use posts, Stories and Reels effectively.
YouTube - When longer videos are useful and how to make the most of YouTube Shorts.
TikTok - What makes short-form video work and whether TikTok is right for your organisation.
What's it all about?
To help elevate local marketing, West Worcester Beacon is funding a dedicated training session focused on using social media as a promotional tool.
To support our local community, we are welcoming anyone in the surrounding area to come along, gain valuable new digital skills, and improve their organisation's visual outreach.
Who is it for?
Open to all residents, community groups, and local businesses in Lower Broadheath, Hallow, Holt, and Grimley.
Description supplied by the event organiser.
