Fulford Cemetery contains 104 First World War burials and 115 from the Second World War. Burials from both wars form a war graves plot, the rest of the graves are scattered. There are also 15 war graves of other nationalities within the war graves plot. The graves of more than 50 German servicemen, most of whom died in the No. 162 Prisoner of War Hospital at nearby Naburn, were later removed to the German cemetery at Cannock Chase. Those commemorated or cared for by the Commission cover the last 150 years from A-Z, actually from Z to A, the Zulu Wars to Afghanistan, with links to the Boer War as well as major battles of the Great War, Ireland, the outbreak of WW2, Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain, the Far East, DDay and VJ Day.
The tour lasts approx. 75 mins and covers about 450 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground. There is wheelchair access.
Parking is available on site and nearby. There are no on-site facilities and toilets. Please bring water if required.
Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the cemetery.
Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour
