Get arty in Naburn, York! Enjoy a creative art workshop carving your own stamp and using to create your own unique cards or gift wrap.

The event will be held at Tea By The Lock and those who come to the workshop will be welcome to buy refreshements at the lovely plant-based tearoom (not included in ticket price).

The workshop is run by a talented local artist, so you will be guided through the process of creating your own stamp, using soft-cut materials that don't put a lot of pressure on finger-joints. For anyone who finds carving tools difficult (we use lino-print tools), there are options to create a no-carve stamp using other tools such as small scissors. None of my tools are specificially for left-handed people, so please bear that in mind.

I will show you designs I have created, which you are free to imitate, but if you would like to create something totally different, you will be free to do so.

I will provide some examples of my work as inspiration, and give a demonstration, and then you will be free to have a go yourself.

Please note we will be using sharp tools, so any under-18s must be accompanied by an adult and is entirely at your own risk. The tools we use are similar to those used in schools, but is at your own discretion.

If you are worried about getting messy, you may wish to bring an apron and gloves, and it is worth remembering your glasses if you wear them.

Tea By The Lock is a wonderful venue, and the location itself offers a relaxed atmosphere, is dog-friendly, has a plant-based menu, and is close to both a bus stop and the lock carpark. It is past the caravan park, down the track through the gate, and to the Lock - ignore the private lane sign, but as the carpark can get busy, it's worth leaving time to find a spot!

Don't worry if you can't get your ticket printed or saved off event-brite - just let me know the name of the booking when you arrive.
