(Please Please You & Brudenell Presents) This five piece combines their love for pop music and dark sentiments with a punk ethos. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists - such as The Ronettes, MF Doom, Dry Cleaning and Kate Bush - they've crafted a sound that's truly and twistedly their own. What initially began as an outlet, both creatively and politically, mutated into a musical life mission for its members. Their DIY approach, from songwriting to releasing music and tour management, is what makes The Klittens the ragtag bunch of misfits they are. The band consists of Yaël Dekker (vocals), Winnie Conradi (guitar), Katja Kahana (guitar), Marrit Meinema (bass guitar), and Laurie Zantinge (drums). "Ambition meets weirdo cool on Amsterdam gang’s superb EP. By executing both indie-pop and brittle post-punk styles with ease, the band unearth a vibrant space of their own." NME, 4/5 "Amsterdam riot grrl punks The Klittens are hard to ignore. Mixing pop, fuzz, indie rock and more, the DIY, self-taught multi-hyphenate misfits have self-produced and directed their own music videos, opened at Amsterdam Fashion Week, received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 6 with their new singles, collaborated with Rotterdam’s Graphic Lyceum, and continue to use their music to express both the personal and the political."
