About This Event

On 21 September 2026, from 9:30 AM onwards, Marischal College in Aberdeen is hosting a complimentary Train the Trainer course aimed at individuals responsible for delivering Adult Support and Protection training to their organization's staff. This workshop will equip participants with crucial skills and knowledge necessary for effective training sessions. The event is structured to feature multiple instructors who will cover various facets of the subject matter, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive learning experience for all attendees.

The Train the Trainer Course is for individuals delivering Adult Support and Protection training to staff within their organisation

The training is for those who are delivering Adult Support and Protection training within Aberdeen City to staff in other organisations with more than 15 paid staff or volunteers

Adult Support and Protection – Train the Trainer

Overview of Training

This training is aimed at practitioners who are delivering Adult Support and Protection training to staff in other organisations with more than 15 paid staff or volunteers. This may include staff from the third sector, or services and care providers who employ staff who have a direct care role and/or a management responsibility within that organisation. This training has been developed to ensure that all those working in Aberdeen City have workforces with the knowledge and skills required to support adults at risk of harm in Aberdeen.

The training aims to:

- provide you with up-to-date training material to plan and deliver Adult Support and Protection Training within your own organisation

- to encourage support, learning and sharing of knowledge across services

- to provide a flexible approach to Adult Support and Protection Learning and development

- To ensure that organisations are meeting contractual and registration requirements in relation to Adult Support and Protection

- To ensure that participants know how to recognise harm, when and how to report and Adult Support and Protection concern in Aberdeen, and understand the core elements to share with those people they are training.

Expectations

It is expected that once you have completed this training you will take the material and learning back to your own service/organisation to plan and deliver your own Adult Support and Protection Training. As a minimum you should complete the Train the Trainers every 3 years and attend one follow up session per year.
